Books Concerning the Alsace Area

Alsace-Lorraine by George Wharton Edwards, published 1918. (available on-line at this site)

Written in English and contains many color illustrations, including drawings by George Wharton Edwards about these towns:  Kayserburg, Strassburg, Ferrette, Mullhouse, Colmar, Sainte-Odile, Dambach, Niederhoslach, Turckheim, Thann, Rosheim, and Metz. (plus other drawings concerning houses, costumes, etc.)    I have scanned all the illustrations from this book, and am in the process of OCR scanning the text. NOTE:  This book has a very obvious anti-German slant, but does contain many beautiful illustrations and descriptions of the area, including many of the old customs and traditions.
