Patrick McGovern was born on March 18, 1865. He was the son of John McGovern and Catherine Moore Trainor. (He was a son of her second marriage.) The McGovern family lived in Wilmore, Cambria County, and Patrick's father was a farmer. There were ten children born into this family, but several did not live past childhood. As far as I can tell, Patrick never married. He suffered from Bright's disease, which was the cause of his death in 1911 at 46 years of age. He actually died in Derry, Pa., when he was visiting his mother, Catherine McGovern. (See newspaper obit in McGovern documents. Note that there is a mistake in the obit--it lists Mrs. M.J. Waltz as Patrick's sister, and it should really be Mrs. John G. Waltz.). Although he died in Derry, he was buried at St. Bartholomew's Cemetery in Wilmore.
