Andreas Gärtner was the son of Valentin Gärtner and Gertrud (unknown). He was born about 1699 in Weiperz, Hesse, Germany. Andreas was a fieldworker on a farm.
When Andreas was 18, he first married Catharina Emmert on Feb. 22, 1717 in Weiperz, Hessen, Germany. Catharina was the daughter of Johannes Emmert. She was born about 1700 in Weiperz, Hessen, Germany. Andreas and Catharina had three children:
Catharina died before 1745. Andreas second married Elisabeth. She was born about 1700 and died Oct. 6, 1745 in Weiperz, Hesse, Germany. Third, he married Ann Maria.
