Welcome to my NEW site!

My name is Linda (Gartner) Braund, and I am very interested in researching my family history. I have been away from my family research for a long period of time due to health reasons, but things are looking up and I am now back! Instead of trying to update the old site, I am using this opportunity to completely review my data and create a new web site. So, if you previously sent me something that was never posted, I apologize, and will hopefully catch it now. (Please contact me if you don't see it.) I will be adding information as I find it, and as time permits, so please check back for updates.

The majority of information contained on this site is for my two main surnames: GARTNER & WALTZ, but I've decided to create mini-sites for my other surnames as well. I will be trying to build the information for the other surnames as time permits (but for now, they are a bit empty).

If you have any information, documents, or photos that you would like to share, please use the "Email Me" link on the toolbar, and I will try to get your contribution posted as soon as possible.

What's New?

All document files are now saved as PDF's so that they will view better on your computer...and also print easier. Any documents that I have on a family will be posted under the "documents" tab for that surname.

This site contains a section on Riedseltz , Alsace, France - the village where my Waltz ancestors lived. I have updated all the information that was sent to me from other Riedselz researchers, added a page with postcards from the Alsace area, and also posted quite a few more sections of the book "Alsace-Lorraine" by George Wharton Edwards.

I also have a section on Chest Springs, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, where the Waltz family settled in the United States, and have updated any information sent by contributors.

Request to Researchers: I would like to create a section on my site for the villages of Weiperz and Veitsteinbach, Kreis Fulda, Hesse, Germany. This is where my Gartner ancestors lived. Is there anyone out there with Weiperz or Veitsteinbach ancestors who would be interested in collaborating on this? I would be looking to include the same kind of information that is contained in the Riedseltz site above. But, a warning before you decide...I don't know a word of German and have to rely on my dictionary and web translators (and the kindness of my Internet friends!)
