History & Acheivements
- Henry Strange Pillidge was born at Morpeth
N.S.W. A pretty good assumption is that he was bought up on his
father's farm at Largs . Eventually he started to make a move out on
his own. Meeting Ruth at Mullumbimby,he married her and started to
set out producing a family . Henry and Ruth farmed a property near
Mullumbimby . They set up a farm at Wondai, Queensland ,at a small
town called Wheatlands. This farm produced peanuts for the
Queensland market of the time. They eventually moved to Banora Point
N.S.W. near Tweed Heads building a house and farming on what is now
known as Sexton's Hill.(the actual farm is now a motel and housing
Henry and Ruth had 7 children, only 5 survived. The last 2
children, twins, boy & girl are buried side by side in bush
graves in the Church of England section at Wondai Cemetery. The dates
of their birth & death is unknown.
