History
& Achievements
George Jubb arrived in Sydney 12th of July 1806 as a
convict aboard the ship " Fortune 1 ".Sailing from
England 0n te 28th of January 1806. A voyage of 165 days . 260
convicts Embarked with 256 disembarking following the death of 4
. The "Fortune 1" was under the comand of Hy Moore . On
board this ship were listed a George Jubb jnr and a Thomas Jubb.
It appears from research that George Jubb jnr was the above
George's son . George Jubb jnr's age was listed as 20 years . At
this point This Thomas listed on the "Fortune 1"may
have also been George snr's son . But this at presant has not
been confirmed. Thomas
. Jubb Transported on board the "Ann 2 " was the
brother of George Jubb snr. The marriage of . Thomas
Jubb . and . Mary
. Travis
,witnessed by ( in 1810 ) George Jubb and Thomas Taber .
George Jubb apparently married Ann Halward ( known
also as Holward, Holway, Hallward, Hulwood), however details of
the marriage have not been found as yet. George & Ann had the
following children: Mary Ann b 1812, Thomas b 1814, James b 1816
and possibly a fourth George
A marriage is listed in 1832 at Longford, Tasmania
between George Jubb and Catherine Lawson. This could be a second
marriage for George after Ann died or it could be a child of
George and Ann.
