This monument is located in the Pioneer Memorial Garden,  Oshawa Ontario. The Garden is on the south side of Bond Street, just west of Simcoe Street.  The Garden is on the site of the first Wesleyan Methodist Church in the Oshawa area The monument and the plaque were placed here by the congregation of the Simcoe Street United Church. Though the Memorial Garden itself is located in the center of Oshawa,it tends to be a quiet peaceful place.There are about 15 headstones placed in eight walls around this monument. William and Margaret(Taylor)Garfat's headstones are placed, facing west in one of the four walls on the north side of the monument.
