Oliver Lines of Descent from Olivers in the Lime Green Group

This web page was first mounted on November 25, 2009 by Sheila Schmutz. and updated on February 25, 2012. This is a private webpage that is connected to the Oliver Y DNA Project of Family Tree DNA. Please address corrections and additions to her. If you wish to correspond with other participants whose lines are shown, she will forward your message to them.

This webpage focuses only on the men who are highlighted in Lime Green or Group 07, among the many Oliver men who have been tested thus far. By November 25, 2009 there were eight men who matched in this group, including one with a different last name. There have been no new matches as of February 25, 2012. All eight men have been tested at 37 markers and differ by at most, one marker. The data on the markers of the men tested at FTDNA appears on the Oliver Y DNA project homepage under Y-DNA results. Another Oliver has been tested by Ancestry DNA and also matches the men in this group. The detailed data on the markers of this man and the others, with differences highlighted, is on a linked page.

The genealogy shown for the men in this group has either been emailed, or was posted by them on the FTDNA family tree section of their personal page. These lines are shown in the chart below. A dashed line indicates that the connection is not well documented. A gedcom file in support of the genealogy shown in these lines is posted on RootsWeb.

Although the men in this group have an E1B1a haplotype and that hapoltype is reported to be suggestive of an ancestor from western Africa, this group shows that many descendants with this haplotype are Caucasian.

Note that the names of the participants and their Fathers are not shown to protect the privacy of the individuals. If individuals do not wish their line to be shown at all, please contact me and I will respect your wishes.
