Wedding In The Shadow Of The Trebuchet
This tableau of Urquhart Castle shows a wedding procession and a siege engine in close proximity. The siege engine is a trebuchet, a medieval weapon that hurls large stones through the air using the power of leverage. Urquhart Castle probably faced more than a few such devices during its violent prime. How many weddings it hosted in times past is anyone's guess. As a tourist attraction, it certainly hosts weddings now. The bride and groom were young and Asian, accompanied by their parents and attended by bespectacled university friends bedecked in kilts.
