Manor House At Threave Gardens

This manor house was a separate attraction, and we would have had to pay extra to get into it. We settled for the gardens instead, although the exterior of the manor house certainly promised fine things within. One note about visiting historic sites in this country is that you should purchase a National Trust for Scotland pass. It will save you several pounds for every place you visit. You might think it's a bother to shell out money up front for a pass, thinking that surely you won't be visiting THAT many places. But you will, I can guarantee you that you will. There are more castles than you can shake a sword at, for one thing, and that's just the castles.
