Butterfly At Threave Gardens

I captured this convergence of fauna and flora in a flower bed at Threave Gardens, while I struggled mightily to protect my camera lens from the constant drizzle. If nothing else, it is proof that colorful insects can thrive in Northern Europe. Competitive to the end, I concealed the presence of the butterfly from my wife, and kept this shot to myself.
