The Isle of Skye is part of the Inner Hebrides, and is known for its remote landscape and misty climate. It may be reached from the mainland via the Kyle Akin (or Skye) bridge, which is near the Kyle of Lochalsh, or by ferry from Mallaig, which is about 40 miles north of Fort William.
