The Forbidding Aura Of Hermitage Castle
Hermitage Castle's first owners were the de Soulis family. Among them was an evil lord who reputedly dabbled in the black arts and was held responsible for the disappearance of several children. The bad Lord de Soulis had a supernatural accomplice named Robin Redcap who granted him immunity to steel blades and nooses made of rope. His tenants were able to execute him only by encasing him in lead, and boiling him in a brass cauldron inside an ancient stone circle atop a local hill. The ghosts of both the bad Lord de Soulis and Robin Redcap are said to haunt The Borders. The castle itself is thought to be haunted by the victims of de Soulis, who stand by the upper windows of the castle at twilight - even though there is no upper floor to stand on - and cry out in cosmic displeasure.
