The Gallagher's came from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, to the wilds of Spokane, Washington. Immgrating in the 1890's. The Mother, Eliza (Hill), and her five grown children made the journey west, while James Sr, stayed in Ontario, for reasons unknown.
Farming was the main source of income. Harry was a dairy farmer, in Spokane. Charles was a farmer in Chewelah, and Guy a fruit tree farmer. James and Emily worked as sales clerks.
The Hill's- George Arundel Hill, his wife Hannah, and their three children (Arundel, Boldrick and, Emily) came from Limerick, Ireland in 1831. They settled in Dummer township, Peterborough Co, Ontario, Canada. After their parents died the siblings went their own way. Arundel, and Boldrick stayed in Canada. Emily to New York, USA, Kate to Tennessee, USA, Eliza to Spokane, Washington, USA, Hannah to Manitoba, Canada, Oregon, USA and Tennessee, USA, and Hopton to North Dakota, USA.
