He was married to Augustine Fougere on 30 Jan 1959 in Hamilton, Ontario. ⁽³¹⁾ Children were: Gary Fougere, Diane Fougere, Guy Fougere.

She was married to Harley L Matthews on 19 Dec 1931 in Marlette, Michigan.^{(33) (2)} Children were: Edwin J Matthews, Howard Matthews, Gerald Matthews, Nancy Matthews, Mary Lou Matthews, Margaret Matthews.

She was married to Edward Gregor on 24 Sep 1910 in Australia.

He was married to Susan Brown on 26 Aug 1989 in Rougeley.

She was married to Ernest Amos in Coffs Harbour.

 As a result of an accident when he was a child, Arthur was left in the care of
his grandparents, Robert and Sarah Howes, who died only a few years
later. The Foster (or Forster) family took him into their care and
emigrated to Australia. The 'selection' (?) the Fosters went to in
Australia was about 18 miles out of Kyogle.
Arthur enlisted during the First World War, returned to Australia but
left on about December 24th to 27th, 1921 embarked on the ship 'Mahona'
for Wellington, New Zealand.
For medical reasons (mustard poisoning) he moved to Hawkes Bay where he
worked on a dairy farm, then moved to Canterbury where he remained the
rest of his life.
For unknown reasons, Arthur changed his name from Gailer to GREGOR on
board the Mahoma.
Under the name John Athol GREGOR, Arthur became a Justice of the Peace on
January 30th, 1942. He was invested with the MBE from the Governor
General on behalf of the Queen in 1946. He was of the highest intellect,
and knowledgeable about any topic. he was involved in all aspects of
community work and in almost any organization one might dream of.

John (Arthur) lived to be 102 years old and wrote poems and tales about his long, fascinating life. around the world.

He was married to Gladys Maud Bennetts in 1895 in Brisbane, QLD. Children were: Gladys Ellen Gailer, Frederick James Gailer, James Arthur Gailer, Ivy Helen Gailer, Elsie Maud Gailer, Thomas Francis Gailer.

Children were: George Gailer.
