Frances Litchfield
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, in First Pre sbyterian Church in Newport for Frances Litchfield, who died Sept. 19 at a ge 92. Mrs. Litchfield was born Frances McGilvra on Oct. 23, 1908, in Drap er, S.D., and moved to Portland as a child. She graduated from Franklin Hi gh School and from Willamette University. She was a high school teacher f or three years in Bellfountain and then a homemaker. She lived in Newpo rt since 1940. A member of the church, she was an elder and Sunday Scho ol superintendent. She was a moderator of the Oregon Presbyterian Women 's Synodical and was named Woman of the Year by the Newport Business and P rofessional Women's Organization in 1967. In 1930, she married Kenneth Lit chfield; he died in 2000.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Rehfus and Ruth Clark; sons, Dr. Ri chard and Dr. Ralph; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Interment in Eureka Cemetery in Newport. Remembrances to her church. Arran gements by Bateman Funeral Home.
