Will of Noah Freeman - November 21, 1840

State of Georgia
Henry County

In the name of God Amen. I Noah Freeman of this County of Henry and state above memtioned being weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory and Calling to mind the uncertainty of Life & the certainty of Death and since God has blest me with some property in this world I will and dispose of it in the following maner namely

Item 1st I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my Body to be buried decently at this meeting house called Mount Pleasant.

Item 2nd I give to my beloved wife Julian Freeman all this lot of Land that I am now living upon this No of said lot of land is One hundred and thirty Two it being and lying in the third dist of henry County during her natural life or widowhood.

Item 3rd I give also to my beloved wife as named above a Negro man by the name of Sam during her natural life or widowhood.

Item 4th i also give to my beloved wife as above One Sorrell Mare during her natural life or widowhood. Also to cows to be chosen by herself in the same way as has been stated above. Also one sow and pigs and Ten shoats and also I give my beloved wife all my household and Kitchen furniture with the Exception of one bead and furniture for the bead the crop that is now made there is to be a sufficiency reserved for the support of my wife and her family also I give to my wife my cart and steers in the same way as I have done the balance given her with all other things not given to my wife is to be sold by my Executors a Public Sale and to be divided equally between a part of my children as follows by name to wit Mumford Freeman, Robert Freeman, Elizabeth Feeman, James Freeman, and Drury Freeman. Also I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Freeman one feather bead and furniture.

Also I give my daughter Elizabeth Freeman one young Sorrell Mare the whole amount of property as stated above that I have given my beloved wife Julian Freeman at her death this land stock household and kitchen furniture will all this property I have given to be sold by my Executors and an equal distribution made by my executors amongst the following of my children and none others namely Mumford Freeman, Robert Freeman, Elizabeth Freeman, James T. Freeman and Drury Freeman with the exception that after the sale of my land household and kitchen furniture and the money collected from said sale that my executors shall pay over to the others of my children twenty dollars each as their portion allotted to them these are their names alluded to Tyre Freeman, Henry Freeman, Sarah Jordan, John Freeman and Mariah Buckner. Also at the first Sale by my Executors of the Corn fodder and other articles the first money arising from sale shall first be paid my burial expenses and then all my debts and then there is a provision made who shall have the balance of money arising from said sale in said will I do revoke all other wills and do before my God declare this to be my last will and testament in witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal before is signed sealed and delivered in presents of
