Transcript of a "Friendship Will" of Robert Freeman, naming the children of Ezekiel and Rebecca Gilham.

Deed Book H, Pages 82 and 83, 5th of March 1813
Known all men by their presents that I Robert Freeman of the County & State aforesaid do by their presents (for this will friendship & esteem I have for the children of Ezekiel Gilham & Rebecah Gilham his wife) give grant release & convey unto Robert L. Gilham, William Gilham, Betsey Ann Gilham & Jacob Clements Gilham the children of said Ezekiel Gilham & Rebecah Gilham his wife an to all the lawful children which the said Ezekiel and his wife may here after have, one hundred & sixty seven acres of land to be the same more or less being the tract of land whereon the said Ezekiel Gilham now lives adjoining land of James Freeman ----- & then it also being the whole of the tract of land which was sold at Sheriff's sale on the first Tuesday in July last. Sold as the property of said Ezekiel Gilham, which I purchased at Sheriff sale on said day except 35 acres which I have heretofore sold off from said tract to James Freeman ----- all the remainder of the aforesaid tract of land with the express exception of the said thirty five acres, be the same more or less, I now give grant release & convey unto the heirs of Ezekiel Gilham & his wife as above mentioned but the said land is not to be divided until after the death of said Ezekiel Gilham & his wife Rebecah Gillham then it is to be equally divided amongst all said legal heirs in the equal & common way of dividing real estate or as the parties interested may agree upon but it is my wish that the said Ezekiel Gilham shall live on and cultivate the said land his life time to maintain & support his family & for which he must pay the taxes thereof & give it in as his childrens property, its to be understood that I do not oblige myself to make good this --- of the same further that myself my heirs ----- -----, & this I now declare to be my own act & here affix my hand & seal this 5th of March 1813.
