Rose,published in 1914 HALVOR M. WILSON (1891) Halvor M. Wilson farms 240 acres of land in Yellow Medicine county which he rents from his father, the same being 160 acres on section 26 and the west half of the northwest quarter of section 36, Friendship township. Mr. Wilson was born in Columbia county, Wisconsin, November 3, 1874, and is a son of Ole C. and Annie Wilson, both of whom are living and are residents of Friendship township. In 1879 the family came West and located in the village of Renville, where they lived six years. They then went to Dickey county, North Dakota, where they lived until April, 1891, when they came to Yellow Medicine county and located in Friendship township, near Clarkfield. Halvor M. lived at home until twenty-one years old. He lived in Hazel Run one winter and then located in Hanley Falls, where for one year he was engaged in the restaurant business. He then located at Foley, Benton county, Minnesota, and for a year and a half was engaged in the saloon business at that point. He returned to Hazel Run and for three of the next five years tended bar. This was followed by two years in the draying line. In March, 1911, he rented the farm from his father and has since been engaged in its operation. Mr. Wilson was married August 15, 1896, at Hanley Falls, to Selina Anthony, who was born in Hazel Run township September 6, 1876. She is a daughter of Edwin and Betsy (Olson) Anthony, both deceased, early settlers of Yellow Medicine county. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have three children, namely: Oral, born November 23, 1897; Elnora, born July 6, 1899; Arda, born January 23, 1909.
