Rose,published in 1914 BENJAMIN WARNKE (1888) Benjamin Warnke is one of the thrifty young farmers of Yellow Medicine county. He rents from his father 120 acres of land on section 8, Posen township. Mr. Warnke has spent his entire life in Posen township, where he was born July 20, 1888, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Warnke. The father came to Yellow Medicine county about thirty years ago and after working for a time for Julius Akle, north of Wood Lake, settled in Posen township. Henry Warnke was born in Sibley county, Minnesota. He farmed in Posen township until 1910, when he retired and moved to Wood Lake. The mother died when Benjamin was about five months old. George, a brother of Benjamin lives in Nebraska. Benjamin was brought up on his father's farm. He was educated in the school of district No. 62 and in a German school in Posen township. He worked for his father until he was twenty-two years old. Then he rented the home place and has since successfully conducted it. Mr. Warnke was married February 22, 1910, in Wood Lake township, to Emma Jeseritz, a daughter of Rudolph Jeseritz, of Wood Lake township. She is a native of Minnesota and was born November 10, 1891. They have one child, Adeline, born January 1, 1912.
