Rose,published in 1914 MRS. PAULINE UNLEE (1882) Mrs. Pauline Unlee is the proprietor of the Five and Ten-Cent store of Canby. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, November 10, 1874, the daughter of Mikkel Hanson and Jacobine (Anderson) Hanson. Her father came from Norway in 1863, lived in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, a few years, in Chicago, Illinois, seventeen years and located in Canby, Yellow Medicine county, in 1883. He died November 25, 1899. The mother of Mrs. Unlee was born in Sweden and now makes her home with her daughter. Miss Hanson accompanied her parents to Canby in 1883 and has ever since resided here. She was married in Canby April 6, 1898, to Peter Unlee, Jr., who was born in Illinois August 27, 1868. To Mr. and Mrs. Unlee were born two children: Violet, who lives with her mother; and a son who died in infancy. Mrs. Unlee opened the Canby store in 1903.
