JACOB NOSBUSCH (1884)

Jacob Nosbusch is postmaster of St. Leo and a harness dealer of that inland
village.  He has spent many years of his life in the St. Leo country and is
a well know resident.

The subject of this review was born in Germany January 17, 1864, a son of
Michael and Catherine (Niesen) Nosbusch.  He spent his boyhood days in the
Fatherland and there received his education.  When he was twenty years of
age, in 1884, he came with the family to the New World, and the home was
established in Yellow Medicine county.  His father bought a farm on section
29, Omro township, on which Jacob lived, assisting with the farm work until
1890.

In the year last mentioned Mr. Nosbusch was married and engaged in farming,
renting land two years and then buying a quarter section in Burton township.
He engaged in farming until 1901; then he sold and moved to St. Leo and
engaged in the harness business.  He has since conducted the shop, carrying
ready-made harness goods and doing repairing.  He was appointed postmaster
in April, 1913, and maintains the office in his store.  Mr. Nosbusch is a
member of the St. Leo Catholic church.

Mr. Nosbusch is a man of family, having been married at St. Leo, November,
12, 1890, to Catherine Ehlenz.  His wife was born in Wisconsin November 2,
1867, a daughter of Frank and Lucy (Schloser) Ehlenz.  Her father died in
1880; her mother lives in Madison, Minnesota.  The children of Mr. and Mrs.
Nosbusch are Lucy, Peter, John, Annie, Henry and Elizabeth.
