CHRIST KOLFLOT (1893)

Christ Kolflot has lived in Swede Prairie township more than two decades and
is one of the successful young farmers of that precinct.  His farms consists
of the southeast quarter of section 18.

Mr. Kolflot was born in Ramsdahl, Norway, May 20, 1873, was brought up on a
farm in his native land, and resided there the first twenty years of his
life.  His father, Knute Kolflot, died in the Northland when Christ was a
child; his mother, Andrina (Kolflot) Kolflot, still lives in Norway.

In 1893 Christ Kolflot came to America and arrived in the village of
Minneota on July 18 of that year.  From the time of his arrival until 1906
he was a farm laborer in Swede Prairie township.  Then he was married and
bought his farm, only slightly improved at the time.  He has made most of
the improvements on the farm and has lived on it since the date of purchase.

Mr. Kolflot has been active in local affairs.  For the past four years he
has been one of the supervisors of his township, and he has been constable
for the past ten years.  He is one of the directors of school district No.
67, an office he has held four years.  Mr. Kolflot is a member of the Modern
Woodmen lodge of Minneota.

Emma Jacobson, born in Swede Prairie township May 25, 1878, became the wife
of Mr. Kolflot July 30, 1906, the ceremony being performed in the township.
Jacob and Christie Jacobson, her parents, came to Swede Prairie in the late
seventies.  Her father is living; her mother is dead.  Mr. and Mrs. Kolflot
have two children:  Juel Emmon, born October 5, 1909; and Adolph Chester,
born April 7, 1912.

Personal Note:  Christian (Christ) and his wife Emma along with their son
Chester and his wife Vivian are buried in Israel Lutheran Church Cemetery in
Swede Prairie township.
