Rose,published in 1914 PETER O. HAGEN (1871) Peter O. Hagen, whose farm is the northeast quarter of section 29, Stony Run township, is of Norwegian ancestry. His parents were Ole and Bertha Hagen, who were born, lived, and died in Norway. Peter O. Hagen first saw the light of day in Norway and was born in 1839. There he acquired his education and spent the first thirty years of his life. He came to the United States in 1869 and located in Iowa. After living there two years he decided to go to a newer country, and in 1871 he came to Yellow Medicine county, locating at that time on the place he now owns in Stony Run township. He is one of the oldest settlers and has witnessed and had a part in the growth and development of the county in the forty-three years of his residence. Mr. Hagen was married to Carena Nelson, daughter of Andrew and Mary Nelson, of Norwegian nativity. Their children are Rose A., Cora S., Oscar G., Norman and Teiman.
