Tollefson was elected an alderman [of Rochester] in 1905 and re-elected and is now serving his second term. He was born in Wisconsin in 1861 and came with his parents to Dodge county in 1868. His father was a cabinetmaker and he learned that trade. He came to Rochester in 1882 and entered the furniture establishment of Peter F. Johnson, with whom he afterward went into partnership, and in 1907 became the sole proprietor.
