Hubert Bernard Campbell Hubert Bernard Campbell was born May 20th, 1862, in Florance Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota. He moved to Section 36, Cormorant Township, Becker County, Minnesota with his parents Dugald Campbell and Julia Furman Campbell in May, 1870. H.B. Campbell married Emma Julia Taplin on October 8th, 1893. Emma Julia Taplin was the daughter of John and Samarimus Comstock Taplin. She was born in Friberg Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota on April 5th, 1873. H.B. Campbell and his wife Emma lived in Cormorant when their first child, Julia was born August 26th, 1894. Later they moved to Moore Township, Beltrami County, Minnesota where their second child, George Edwin was born September 29th, 1896. Their third child, Jessie Pearl, was born in Moose Creek Township, Beltrami County, Minnesota on May 2nd, 1899. Their last child, John Neil, was born in Nora Township, Clearwater County, Minnesota on Christmas Day, 1903. H.B. Campbell was given a land patent for 80 acres which he purchased from the U.S. Government in Clearwater County, Minnesota in July 1897. In 1907 H.B. Campbell and his family moved to Fairlawn, Saskatchewan, Canada. He homesteaded land in Canada and made his home there until his death on July 21st, 1934. A short funeral service was held at his home and the main service was held at the Lutheran Church in Dooley, Montana, about 10 miles south of his home in Canada. He is buried in the Dooley Cemetery, Sheridan County, Montana. Submitted by Dick Campbell
