Cutler A. Sherman 

Cutler A. Sherman, son of Almon W. and Lois Sherman, was born December 6th,
1848, at Silver Creek, Mills County, Iowa. In July, 1865, he came with his
parents to Battle Lake in Otter Tail County, Minn., and in the fall of
1868 came with them to Detroit Township. He resided here on the shores of
Oak Lake for about fifteen years, when he took up his residence at
Clitheral in Otter Tail County, where he was accidently killed by the
upsetting of a load of wood on which he was riding, on the 4th day of
November, 1885.
