Adam and Christina Nusbickel Frey

    Adam Frey was born February 15, 1817 in Bingen am Rhein, Germany. He came to America some time before 1839 and was living in Lyons, Wayne County, NY. His wife, Christina Nusbickel, was born in Wöllstein, Germany a village about 10 miles from Bingen am Rhein. She came to America with her brother Friederick in 1839, and traveled from the port in New York City, up the Hudson river and then across New York State by packet boat on the newly constructed Erie Canal. She met Adam shortly after arriving in Lyons.  They were married in 1843, in Newark, Wayne County, NY and their first child, Adam, was born in 1844 in Lyons, NY.
