We the subscribers doe acknowledge to have received from Colonel William Robinson 
and Mr. John Gilbert (Executors of the Last Will and Testament of Mr. John Burket, 
Deceased) all and singular the estate which was left by him to Elizabeth, Anne and 
Marget our wifes (his money in England only excepted) and we do own and confess that 
we have received every one of our equal part of the said Estate according to the 
intent of the will of said John Burket dec'd . . We promise to acknowledge in the 
County of Richmond when thereunto required . . 09 Oct 1719 . . . Testes: Tho. Charpe, 
Elienor (x) Hughes, John (x) Murphey, George White, Cor. Edmonds, John Pratt.


Indenture 24 Nov 1732 between John Murphey & John Edy,  joyner of other part . . 
Witnesseth . . John Murphey doth agree to serve John Edy four years next ensuing from 
date faithfully . . as house carpenter & joyner . . in consideration . . shall instruct 
in carpenter trade . . also sufficient meat, drink, washing & lodging fit for such an 
apprentice . . John Edy doth further promise to allow John Murphey at end of four years 
one broadcloth coat and vest and fine hat two white linnen shirts two Nec Cloths & a pr. 
shoes & stockins . . /s/ John (x) Murphey.  Presence: John Champe, Peter Daniell.
