MERIDITH FREEL MURPHY was born August 25, 1847 in Meadow Creek, Grayson Co., 
VA, and died June 15, 1927 in Meadow Creek, Grayson Co., VA.  He married MARY 
CASSANDRIA TULBURT July 13, 1866 in Surry Co., NC, daughter of ???  TULBERT 
and CYNTHIA CALVERT.

Notes for MARY CASSANDRIA TULBURT:  From her obituary in the MINUTES OF THE 
36TH ANNUAL SESSION OF THE LITTLE RIVER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION held with Big 
Springs Church, Grayson Co., VA, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3rd and 4th, 1930:

"She numbered among her ancestry the first settlers of our country as her 
Grandfather, Joshua Tulburt, being one of the nineteen proprietors and land  
owners owning the land ceded by Maryland to the United States Government for  
the land on which Washington City is now situated as shown by the Commission  
appointed by Congress to investigate.  Her mother being Cynthia Catherine  
Calvert, who was born September 18, 1810, being a granddaughter of the last  
Lord Baltimore, ruler and settler of Maryland."
