Indenture
	This indenture made the 27th day of January 1762, witnesseth 
that William Murfee and Anne Murfee of Frederick Parish, in the county 
of Frederick, hath put and placed Samuel Murfee, a child of the said 
William Murfee and Anne Murfee his wife, to John Stephenson of the 
said parish and county, to serve him from this date until he shall 
arrive at the full age of twenty-one years, holding now three years, 
eight months and fifteen days old.  
	This document goes on to say John Stephenson is to teach Samuel 
the Lord's prayer and the ten commandments and to read and write.
	Samuel Murfee (Murphy) was born May 12 1758 in Bullskin, Frederick 
County VA, the site of Bullskin, Fayette county PA today.  This John 
Stephenson was the same Col. John Stephenson who was the half brother 
to Col. William Crawford who was burned at the stake by Indians in 1782.

	This was actually on Bullskin Creek or Run in what is now WV.  
The John Stephenson mentioned above was the half brother to Col. William
