 Following are all citations from the two sources cited.  Worth Ray in
Tennessee Cousins drew the conclusion that this Archy Murphey was the son of
James Murphey [brother of Archibald Murphey of Caswell NC] who was killed at
Eutaw Springs.

03 Mar 1820, $300, 100 acres on headwaters of Nine Mile Creek, adj. John

wherein is erected a Meeting House, for use and benefit of the Methodist
Episcopal Church "wherein all regular ministers authorized by the Methodist
Episcopal Church shall have privilege to preach and expand God's Holy Word."

Deed #489, Book 2:415.  ARCHEY MURPHY to David Nimon.  19 Feb 1825, $200, 62
acres on waters of Little River, part of Grant #2567 to Joseph Nicholson,
conveyed by him to MURPHEY on 28 Sep 1818, corner to Hafley, adj. Ingram.
Nimon is surety on a note for MURPHY for payment of $96 to Thomas Hicks and
also for the stay of an execution for $60 on a judgment obtained by Hugh
Bogle, administrator of the estate of Henderson McMurray before Alexander B.
Gamble Esq., a Justice of the Peace, and for the stay of execution on a
judgment obtained by John F. Garner against MURPHY for $55.  Wts. John

Deed #725, Book 3:20-22.  William Wallace, Sheriff, to Jacob F. Foute:  02
Sep 1824, $3.25, 40 acres on waters of Crooked Creek "adj. Thomas Wallace's
corner of the survey where he did live" a tract levied on as property of
John Norwood, to satisfy judgments issued on 30 Jan 1826 . . . one in favor
of ARCHY MURPHEY . . .23 July 1829.
