... Among the claims filed is one for a large amount by Madame Bertinatti,
(wife of the late Italian Minister to the United States,) well known in 
fashionable circles South and West as the widow Bass, of Mississippi.
She is one of the handsomest women in America, and therefore justly figured
as the original of Brumidi's Venus in that remarkable group in the dome of
the Capitol.
