1652 Surry Co. formed from James City Co.

1654 Wm Bird marries Hannah Grendon (in England?); children Thomas & Elizabeth

1656, 7 June, William Bird Land Patent, Ward Creek, VA for transport of 6 persons

1656, April court, Charles City Co., Estate of J.Richards pays Stegge & Wm. Bird 

1657 Feb 20, Wm Bird (said he years later) arrived in Virginia with Mr James Crewes 
et al on the ship "Seven Sisters".

1659 Ann Murphy b. in Barbados, daughter of Richard Murphy

1661 Wm Bird in jail in Charles City Co.

1669 Apr 22-import Rich Murffee, land to Rober Tucker 100a on W branch of Elizabeth 
river joining land of Jno. Ellott.

1669 July 21, Mary Morphey b., dau. of Richard & Izzab(ell), York Co. VA

1671 William Bird purhased a "a grist mill and appurtenances at head of Chippokes 
Creek" from Thomas Busby on 7/4/1671.  He and his family lived in Martins Brandon, 
Charles City Co, VA., was a Judge and a businessman, then also a miller, apparently.

1672 Sep 29 Wm Bird died. Was uncle of William BYRD of Westover

1673, Sep 10 Simon Murphey will in Lancaster Co. VA, left estate to George & John, Jr. Davenport

1677, Will of Mariner Richard Murphy in Stepney, Middlesex, England, off to sea; son 
Richard, wife Sarah.	IGI shows daughters Sarah, Catherine, Mary; possible brothers 
William & Daniel with families

1677 Nov 12, Richard Morphew b., son of Richard & Izabel, York Co. VA

(1680 Richard Murfee marries Elizabeth Bird? Virginia?  No solid evidence.)

1683 Aug 3, Richard Murphy of London, Merchant, apprentices Wm Johnson to Maryland

1687 Jan 21 will of Thomas Bird, Surry Co., son Thomas, brother Wm Bird died earlier.

1689 Richard Murphy dies in Barbados, will dated 22 Mar 1689

1690 Simon Murphy b. Surry Co?., son of Rich & Liz?

1699 Sept, Richard Murphy master of ship "Lamb of Dublin" Liverpool to VA

1702 Prince George Co. formed from Charles city Co.

1710 Simon Murfee is a sailor on the HMS Mary Gally out of Connecticut

1720, Apr 29, Will of William Cocke says that Simon Murfrey lives on 400 acres in 
Surry Co VA owned by him (probably leased).  (This indicates that Simon was probably 
born before 1700, as 20 years old would probably not be old enough to run a 400 acre plantation-mm)

1721, Feb. 14, Will of William Philips describes plantation given to son John "where 
Simon Murphy lately lived" in Surry Co. VA

1722 Robert Tucker I of Norfolk Co. died

1722 May, Richard Murphey leaves Boston for West Indies

1732 Simon Murphey owns land in Surry co. VA

1741, May 31 Arthur Murphy discharged from navy at Port Royall Jamaica
