William Nathaniel Murphy

Note: He and Catharine had 4 boys and 4 girls. He was a school teacher. He moved to Broadview neighborhood in infancy, & spent all his life in this vicinity. His second wife was the widow of Jas N. Farris, who brought two daughters to the home. Century Review of Maury County; Bethel Christian Church , William preached during 1866. Ephesus Church - A few years since Mr. Murphy purchased the first farm North of the Poor Farm, formerly belonging to LaFayette Wilkes, & his ministrations here resulted in the organization of Ephesus Church, June 1904, 5 miles south of Columbia, where 25 members are enrolled & a church house has been erected.

Census: 8 Jun 1860 Bigsyville, Maury Co Tn, Dist #7; W N & wf Elizabeth, children; Thomas, Mary & Virginia. There is a John Howell in household, age 16 born Tn.

Census: 30 July 1870 Culleoka, Maury Co Tn Census with his parents,states he is a school teacher;value of real estate $5000.00, value of personal property $1716.00

Census: 19 Jun 1880 Maury Co Tn Dist # 7; Wm with wf & family; farmer
!Census: 14 June 1880 Dist #4; A woman with M.F. is in house with four boys, Wm, John, M.P., & O.B., she was born 1847.
