Johnson Adcock

Mark,

I visited your website since it appeared on the Crain-List and was
surprised to find in your surname list Johnson Adcock and Cynthia
Lucinda Collier--my gg. grandp arents.

Johnson was born 13 March, 1818, in NC --did live in TN for a time; d.
18 March, 1862, Holly Springs, Marshall County, MS. Family tradition
indicates that he was murdered by snipers. Some of their children were
born in Maury County, TN and the remainder in Marshall Co., MS.

Johnson and Lucinda were enumerated in Marshall Co., MS, in 1860. After
Johnson was murdered Lucinda moved frequently--back to Maury Co., TN,
for a time, then Navarro Co., TX, then Fayette County, TX where their
youngest daughter, Sarah Alexander "Sallie" Adcock married William Henry
Jarious Fergusson and they became my g. grandparents. With children
and/or granddaughter whom she reared, Lucinda lived in Falls County,
McLennan County, Bell County, Hamilton County, and finally Taylor
County, TX, where she died in Merkel 12 Nov., 1913, and was buried in
th e Rose Hill Cemetery. Lucinda was born 21 March, 1825, Greenville
Co., NC.

BTW we live in Hamilton and my cousins two of my Fergusson cousins are
Dr. Ronald Bradbury and Carl Chumney.
