Note:She is buried in the Old Cemetery. aka names; Needy, Bernetta & Benety Ann. Elizabeth Hight, age 80, was living with them in 1850. By 1860 they were living in Rienzi, Tishomingo Co MS
Note:In 1840,he bought land near Rover in the extreme NW corner of Bedford Co Tn. It is assumed that the John S Hite of the 1850 census of Bedford is John Stone Hight. He was bondsman when his bro, Joseph W Hight married Sarah Mount on 11 Jan 1830, Wilson Co Tn
Notes:Came to Virginia as a headright passenger, fare paid by William Bird, 1656. As patent to Bird was granted 1656, passage must have preceded that date. As there were no other Hites listed, he was probably of legal age, over 21 at that time. The "Rent Roll of Virginia, 1704-1705" "New Kent County, in the Parish of St. Peters & St. Pauls, Anno 1704", lists only one Hight: John Hight 100 Acres. The Roll, which listed all lands "held of her Majesty" in Henrico, Prince George, Surry, Isle of Wighte (sic), Nansemond, Norfold, Princess Anne, Elizabaeth City, Warwick, York, James City, Charles City, King William, King & Queen, Gloster, Essex, Accomack, and Northampton Counties, listed no other Hight or Hite names.
