Notes for MARY JANE JOHNSON:

Both my father, Gilbert Freilino, and my Aunt Florence Freilino remember going to visit Sam Lehman's mother at her farm in the New Alexandria, PA area. Both remember her as being an extremely nice woman. I remember my Aunt Clem speaking well of her mother-in-law also. My impression is that her first husband, Sam's father, died when Sam was young. She remarried and lived on the farm that various family members remember visiting. My father feels that she may have been widowed and remarried again. He thinks the man's last name was George.

Herb was born in 1926 in Dawson, New Mexico; the family moved to Florida abt. 1928, then to Long Beach California, where Herbert worked for Vega Aircraft. One of Herbert's sisters who was married to a Sid Appleby, lived there and Herbert and family stayed with them initially. (Herb also mentioned that on the trip from Florida, they were going to visit in PA first and had a terrible car accident that made necessary a stay in Maryland.)
