Introduction
My name is Nick Freeman and I live in Bendigo,
Victoria, Australia. This website represents a sample of the family
tree research undertaken by different branches of the family in recent
years. It traces a number of families who emigrated to Australia from
England and Scotland in the mid nineteenth century. The main two branches of the family are the Freeman line who
trace their ancestry to the town of Cholsey in Berkshire (now Oxfordshire) and the Wilkin line who were Cornish miners from a town called St Agnes.
New stuff
The site has been updated in March 2006. The main new material includes biographies of the early immigrants to Australia in the Arrivals section. An updated biography of convict Charles Bailey in the Convict section and a new section linked below called 'Gold Fever' documenting Saville and Jones ancestors involvement in the Victorian Goldrush
Gold Fever!
Apologies for any errors or omissions. I would
love to hear from you if our ancestry crosses paths at all.
