I wonder if all these Westlake don't all fit together somehow as one big family. My Westlake family comes down through:
1. Samuel Westlake b. 1650 in Devonshire, England m. not known
2. Albert Westlake b. 1675 b. 1675 in Devonshire, England - m. not known
3. Samuel Westlake b. 1699 in Devonshire, England m. Anne
4. Samual Westlake II b. 1721 in Cornwall Co., England m. Sara Welling
5. Thomas Westlake b. 1 Jan 1755 in Trenton, NJ m1. Elizabeth Crandall - am descended from first wife - m2. Mary Brasee
6. Elizabeth Westlake b. 22 April 1780 in Greenbriar Co.?, VA m. Rev. Richard Bird
********
Samuel Westlake II and Sara Welling had a son by the name of Bourroughs Westlake and wonder if this name wasn't brought down through family members. Even if the spelling differs. Family members above would of had brothers. I have siblings for the above Thomas and I show one sibling for Samuel II, a George Westlake, no birth year. And one sibling for Albert, also a George Westlake, no birth year.

From info research by a Bob Dixon, he writes:
SAMUEL WESTLAKE
Samuel and Ann Westlake were the first of this family to immigrate
to America. They were here at least by the 1720's. They were said to have
come from Devonshire, CO, England. However, some sources say Dumfries
(County or Shire), Scotland.
Samuel died by 1725. In New Jersey Colonial Documents, 26
November 1725, Ann Westlake of Piles Grove, Salem County, posted her bond
as the administratrix of his estate. Henry Paullen of Salem County was
fellow bondsman. From the same source, on 5 May 1726, was found a list of
an inventory of the personal estate of Samuel Westlake by Henry Paullen and
Sam Elwell (L51.3) On 13 December 1726, there was a marriage between Ann
Westlake, possibly the widow of Samuel, and John L. Burroughs/Burrows. It
took place in Philadelphia, PA, at the First Presbyterian Church.
[Westlake Family History, Vol I, Patricia Base Schlabach]. Samuel and Ann
had two known children, Samuel II and George. George died in New York
City. [Benson Westlake, Westlake Family Chart.]
SAMUEL WESTLAKE II
Wayne Vandal Masterson, a Westlake genealogist, who credits
another researcher named Ralph Pearson for the following, lists Samuel
Westlake II as born in Cornwall, England, ca. 1721. His wife was Sarah
Welling who was born in Philadelphia, Oneida County, New York. Samuel and
Sarah settled in Trenton, New Jersey, and he reportedly owned property
connected with the "Iron Works." [Schlabach] What that establishment was
is not known, but Samuel worked as a blacksmith. [Pearson, The Westlake
Family]
Samuel and Sarah had nine children. Several of the sons were said
to have fought with Washington at the battle of Germantown. Some sources
say Samuel, the father, was on the side of the British during the
Revolution. [Schlabach]
A descendant, Mary Gilruth, stated that Samuel lived with his son
Thomas in Greenbrier County, Virginia (now West Virginia), until he died at
a great age [possibly in the year 1796], and was buried at the Gilboa
Meeting House graveyard at Big Levels there. [Pearson]
Samuel and Sarah (Welling) Westlake had the following children
[Pearson]:
1. Samuel Westlake, born 1745;
2. John Westlake, born 1747, died 1795;
3. Burroughs Westlake, born 1749 (Mercer County, PA);
4. George Westlake;
5. Thomas Westlake,
6. Joseph/Josiah Westlake, born 1758;
7. William Westlake, born 1761;
8. Sarah Westlake, born 1763;
9. Nancy Westlake, born 1764, died 1766.
