Ellen MacIntosh Fraser (daughter of William MacKay Fraser and Ellen Harkness) was born June 18, 1931, in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada.
Ellen is an accomplished pianist, having tested with The Royal Conservatory of Music. She studied tap dancing with renowned instrutor, John Stanzel, in Arnprior.
She trained to become a nurse at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, graduating with the class of 1954. Ellen has since been employed with the V.O.N.(Victorian Order of Nurses), also in various hospitals and facilities, but primarily devoting her efforts to the care of the elderly in the local nursing home. Ellen is an avid reader, and knits beautiful afghans.
She married Howard Bernard Downey(born August 20, 1934 in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland) son of Michael J. Downey and Maude Gillis, December 26, 1959, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
