This is where your questions get posted. There is no particular order, but I try to post the latest one at the top. I will also post comments of other researchers, who knows - many connections may be made due to a "hint" provided by someone else. Some of these have been extracted from my guestbook.
NOTICE - People often change their email address, if it doesn't work - please don't ask me, I am not a detective.

You may or maynot be able to help me.
I am tracking information in regards to my father's family history.
His name was Albert Frans, born in Bellingwolde, around 1936
He had 2 Brothers, named Willem, and Gerry and
He also had 3 sister's, named Greta, Anna, and Anna Mona
His fathers name was Jan Frans. His mother died when he was a small boy.
His father put the boys in a childrens home after this, as he was unable to cope.
Some years later they migrated to Australia , all of them.
Where Jan Frans lived in Melbourne in a Mens hostel, were he died approx 15 - 20 years ago.
My father married my mother Sandra Mary Frances Miller in Wodonga , VIC on the 12th August 1959.
If you have any information in regards to my father's heritage I would be most appreciative
Regards Rae

Hello again,
Little by little many Franssen names are beginning to emerge on my newly found ancestral line from Weener, Germany. However, it amazes me that I have not run across any of your Franssen names yet. I went through the book you sent me on your family hoping to find similar names. We have so many names and dates and locations in common that I would almost bet you we have to connect somewhere. I just need to accumulate more names from my various branches.
It will be a slow process gathering this information. I have found Franssen relation in Weener who are half cousins (Haven't proven this yet, but very close). I have been told they have Franssen ancestor history that they may share with me.
I would very much like to stay in touch with you and compare notes as the information gets sent to me. This is so exciting finding new ancestors and following the many branches.

Hi. I am a descendent of Nils (Nels) Gustaf Franzen (Fransson) who came to America from Sweden in 1870's. I have lots of info on his descendents. Don't know what became of his sister though, and not even sure of her name. His mother was Lena Johanna Pettersdotter and his father was Franz Daniel Nilsson. Nils was born in 1858 in Bjurkarna (Bjurtarn), Orebro, Varmland, Sweden. He was a preacher in the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church and was also a talented carpenter who recieved the first patent for what is now the Lazy-Boy rocker. They first settled in Chicago and later moved to Kansas. He died young at only 27 from illness. He and his wife, Gursten Nygren, had 3 children, with 2 living past infancy: Phillip Nathaniel Franzen (my ggrandfather) and Rebecca. I don't have anything on Rebecca's descendents, would like to find that out. Phillip married Mabel McLaughlin and they had Fern Donald (FD)Franzen. FD married Barbara Florence Watts in Topeka.

Hello,
I'm Cis Fransen and I live in Belgium, Wilrijk, Antwerp I was born on 11/04/1981 in Wilrijk, Antwerp I'm the son of Marc Fransen and the grandson of Franciscus Fransen
As far as we know, the roots of the Fransen family (or our part of the family) lies in Belgium...
But I'm very interested in the history of our family, maybe I'm wrong...

Ties Fransens married Hindrikje Hindriks in Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands. Their son Anthonij Tiessen or Thiessens was chr 15 Dec 1761, Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands; married (3) Trietje Steenblok 15 Mar 1805 in Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands; died 30 Oct 1828 in Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands.
I am trying to find the parentage and ancestry of this Ties Fransens who apparently was a soldier serving in Groningen, but his whereabouts and origin are not known. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been researching a Dutch Fransen Family, because my wife's name is Fransen. The oldest ancestor I found was baptized in 1662 in Atzendorf in Sachsen Anhalt. The family emigrated to Medemblik in the North-Holland and moved later on to several area's in Holland. The majority of them lives nowadays in Amsterdam. Another branch went to the former Dutch East Indies. If you see any relationship with a Fransen from the Netherlands, please contact. I know, that in the first part of the 19th century a Pieter went to America, but is believed to have died without any ascendants. Greetings from Holland!! Willy A. Scholte (wscholte@multiweb.nl)
Received from Paul Gaastra (gaastrap@hort.cri.nz):
My sister Alice is researching our family tree.
We have Fransens in our ancestry. They come from Meppel, Drenthe, the Netherlands. She doesn't think they will be connected at the level she has investigated because she looked throught he Mappel marriage register from 1795 to 1907 and didn't see any Arend of The(u)s. The known Fransens in our direct line are:
Aaltje Fransen, dopen 17 Sept 1859 daughter of Lambertus Fransen, dopen 19 June 1832 son of Jan Hendriks Fransen, dopen about 1792.
All above born in Meppel.

I am doing my family tree on the Fransen's. I have traced my family back to 1600. They came from Beegden Holland. The name was spelled Franssen then. I am looking for descendants of Peter Joannes Franssen born Oct 29 1832 in Beegden Holland & Jacobus Hubertus Franssen born Feb 3, 1844 in Beegden.
