Widows may bequeath the Crop of their Lands [Henrici III. CAP. II. 1235]

‘Also from henceforth Widows may bequeath the Crop in the Ground, as well of their Dowers, as of other their Lands and Tenements, saving to the Lords of the Fee, all such Services as be due for their Dowers and other Tenements.’

Item, omnes vidue de cetero possunt leg* blada sua de terra sua, tam de dotibus fuis quam de aliis terries & tenetementis suis : salvis se* vitiis dominorum, que de dotibus & aliis tenetementis mentis fuis debenture.
