Franklin Jackson, aged 71, who had been handicapped since suffering a stroke 20 years ago, suffered another heart attack, last week and died Sunday at Peters Creek where he lived with his sister Mrs. Rachel Holbrook and her son Troy Jackson and family. Other survivors are brother Sam Jackson, and half sister Rhoda Laird.
Funeral services for him were held Tuesday afternoon at the Missionary Baptist Church at Peters Creek with Rev. Raymond Rose Officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Served as pallbearers were Noah Riggs, Luther Austin, Nathaniel Hobbs, Adrain Belt and Paul Board. The gospel quartet sang for the services.
Mr. Jacskon's body was first taken to the Hosick funeral Home after his death, and then to the home of Mrs. Effie Jackson in Elizabethtown.
The deceased had been born in Hardin County, the son of W.J. and Mary (Clanton) Jackson and had lived all his life here.
