Woodcock Borough is located in the valley of Gravel Run, in the northeastern portion of Woodcock Township.
It was originally known as Gravel Run. The first known settler was James Humes in 1791.
It was named Rockville in 1819, and changed to Woodcock in 1844, when it was incorporated from Rockdale
Township.
