1947

OrganizationOrganized by Hass Hoovler, Joy Contray, Harry Lasher, Lester Davis, and Frank Geble.

Approval was received from the residents and a committee was formed to purchase

a fire truck. A 1926 LaFrance Pumper was purchased for $1,500 in Oil City.

February 1948

CharteredThe new officers were: Frank Geble, President; James Howles, Sr., the first Chief.

Auxiliary Formation

Tank Truck PurchaseA one thousand gallon tank truck was purchased to haul water to supply the pumper at

fires.

1949

First Fire HouseA barn was purchased from Fritz Yenny and it was renovated for a fire house.

Meetings were held upstairs.

1957

Pumper PurchaseA 1946 John Bean Pumper was purchased to replace the 1926 LaFrance Pumper.

Money was raised by bake sales, raffles, pancake breakfasts, and fair participation.

1960

New Fire HouseA new fire house was built beside the old school house which had closed in the late

1950's. A rescue truck and another pumper were added. The school was renovated

for a meeting room, kitchen, and recreation room upstairs.
