ONE HUNDRED POUNDS OF GOOD SOAP FOR $1.30
take potash, 61 pounds @ 75 cents
4 pounds of lard @ 50 cents
quarter-pound of resin @ 5 cents
Beat up the resin, mix all together and set aside for 5 days.
Place the mixture in a 10 gallon cask of warm water. Stir
twice a day for 10 days, at which time you will have 100 pounds
of excellent soap.

LINIMENT FOR EXTERNAL USE
One pint of cider vinegar
Three egg whites
half-pint of turpentine spirits
ten cens worth of oil spike

FOR BRONCHITIS
4 ounces of gum myrrh
1 ounce of hemlock oil
1 ounce of gum guasac
1 pint of best alcohol
Dose 10 to 15 drops on sugar.

COUGH CURE
half-pint of whiskey
2 ounces of glycerine
half-ounce of virgin oil of pine
two cents worth of rock candy

COUGH REMEDY
half-pint of brandy
half-pint of raw linseed oil
half-pint of honey
|
COUGH SYRUP
pint of whiskey
1 ounce of glycerine
quarter-pound of rock candy
1 pint of sunflower seeds
Cook the sunflower seeds in a quart of water and strain out
the seeds. Then, add the rock candy to the syrup and then
when cool, add the whiskey and glycerine.
