The Borough of Saegertown lies on the western border of Woodcock Township. It is located in an agricultural area
on the east bank of French Creek.

It was named for Daniel Saeger, who purchased the land and laid out the town in the 1820's. It was originally
known as Saegerstown until 1955 when the current variation was changed by popular vote. It was incorporated in
1838 from Woodcock Township.
