ALBION - George Rudolph Petrus, 87, of 12266 Pont Road, Albion, died
Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Rolling Fields, Conneautville.
He was born in Springboro Oct. 26, 1914, a son of John and Mary Czarik
Petrus. He married Hulda Louise Langworth.
A self-employed beef farmer, he also drove milk truck for 15 years and
was owner of the Cussewago Inn from 1963 to 1969.
He was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church, Crossingville, the
Knight's of Columbus and Crossingville Sportsman's Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 60 years, include a daughter,
Virginia Marino of Erie; a son, Greg Petrus and his wife, Janice, of
Albion; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, George Petrus Jr.; two brothers,
Joseph and John Petrus; and three sisters, Anna Swensiski, Marian
Petrus and Sue Shellito.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Glunt
Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, an Independent Care Group
Affiliate, with a vigil service at 3:30.
A prayer service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass
of Christian Burial at St. Philip's Catholic Church, Crossingville,
at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Cranesville Volunteer Fire
Department, 9920 Meadville St., Cranesville, Pa. 16410; or Albion
Area Public Library, 111 E. Pearl St., Albion, Pa. 16401.
