Drakes Mills is located in the northwest part of the Cambridge Township. The first
saw-mill and carding-mill in the area were constructed here. A dam was constructed
on Conneaut Creek, at what is now Drakes Mills.
John Marvin kept the first store here, and built a grist-mill, which he afterward
sold to Mr. F.A. Drake.
In the 1880's, the village conatined several homes, a grocery, a saw mill, a grist
mill, and a planing-mill, along with a blacksmith-shop.
